Cinema advertising
Cinema is the only place where the viewer sits in a dark auditorium facing a big screen with no remote. The ad block before the film therefore gets attention hard to find elsewhere. Reach is smaller than TV, but the audience skews younger and comes deliberately — and the choice of films and screens allows sharper targeting.
What we deliver
- Selecting cinemas, screens and film titles by target audience
- Planning by estimated admissions and screening weeks
- Negotiating price and position in the ad block
- Checking the spot in cinema format and its delivery
- Evaluation against actual admissions
The film decides the audience
Cinema advertising can be targeted by film: a family film brings parents and children, an action film young men, a romance another audience. A campaign can thus be limited to titles whose viewers match the target audience.
The drawback is uncertainty: a film’s admissions are only an estimate in advance. So campaigns are planned in packages of screens or weeks and evaluated against actual admissions, not the plan.
The big screen demands more of the spot
A spot that looks fine on a phone or TV can reveal every flaw on a cinema screen — soft focus, noise, weak sound. Cinemas accept spots in cinema format (DCP) with an appropriate sound mix.
Our sister company OMNIA PRODUCTION can handle both the shoot and conversion to cinema format. If you supply a spot from elsewhere, we check it meets cinema requirements before it reaches the projector.
Frequently asked
- Can a TV spot be used in cinemas?
- Yes, if it is converted to cinema format (DCP) and both picture and sound hold up on the big screen. OMNIA PRODUCTION or another studio can do the conversion; before it goes to cinemas, we check it meets their requirements.
- What does cinema advertising cost?
- The price depends on the number of cinemas and screens, campaign length, spot length and choice of films; it is often calculated on admissions. Send the inquiry form for a concrete proposal.
